R.K.M. born in New Zealand, via London, New York for a decade and now planted in the dirty D. He recently finished 4 & 1/2 years at VICE as creative director, and is a long time lover of graphic agitation, Rick Poyner's POV and high contrast.
After a childhood of scribbling he pursued a degree in design and moved to London before landing in Detroit amidst its revolution.
"This line champions everything dear to us, from family values, to the possibilities of the neighbors empty pool over the summer to the tough conversations under the porch light with your father. The offset, the notion that everything is unfinished. We celebrate the uncelebrated culture of low-fashion, one that’s seldom pretty, the anti-luxury if you will. Sometimes it comes with a bottle of rye, sometimes you just gotta step off and ride away... But you always come back. Because FAM'LY."
His apparel and aesthetic influencers are varied, from Alexander McQueen, David Carson, Ana Teresa Fernandez, Stefan Sagmeister, The Black Madonna to the guy who designs sales signs for gas stations and the 7/11.
A husband, father of two, part time painter, part time skater, always full time dad.
